i think this symbol is also taken from thelema, the star trek badge which is this symbol rotated 180 D is almost identical to the thelema symbol. also.. thelemites ; of which parsons was a member.

yeah its not quite a regular hexagram though, its distorted with the top traingle being large and the inverted triangle being smaller and a bit obscured (the thelema hexagram). to me, it is a indirect homage to thelema, the members of which created this type of fiction in hollywood.

The Chevron is very distinctive, it does not fit in the NASA meatball logo; this is in your face, this tells everyone that NASA means FICTION.  

The Douglas Logo tells us that they too were involved with fake space, and their logo has absolutely nothing to do with the sex symbol for MARS/MALE.
